Gardeners Cottage was originally built as gardener’s accommodation by Lord Durham who owned and lived in the manor house next door.
The AA 4 star rated cottage offers very comfortable living and sleeps 4 people in tastefully furnished, centrally heated accommodation, with a lovely south facing garden to relax in.
There is a huge network of footpaths and bridleways running from the property, and the area abounds with wildlife. We regularly see deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards from the garden, and the village peacocks often drop in to see us.
The village pub serves a range of beers and excellent food (we can vouch for this!) and is only a short walk away. A small shop and tea room, a village pub, playground/tennis court and church can be found in Compton, less than a mile up the road. A little further away Portsmouth and Chichester have plenty of attractions to offer all tastes, from culture and history to serious retail therapy!
Whilst most of our guests book 1 or 2 week stays, we also offer short breaks between September and April where we have availability, and these have proved very popular. Do call to check availability – what could be nicer than a lovely long weekend in the countryside to relax and unwind.
A couple of weeks left in July/August - call for details – and see our newly hatched red-leg partridges!
